We Believe...
- in the inspiration of the Scriptures by the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures are infallible and profitable for use in all matters of doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness: that the child of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (II Timothy 3:16; II Timothy 2:15; I Corinthians 2:11-16).
- God is one, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are infinite in glory, wisdom, holiness, justice, power and love. (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; Colossians 1:12-23, 2:9; Matthew 28:18).
- in the creation and the fall of man as recorded in the book of Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to Divine righteousness by his own means (Romans 5:12-19).
- in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, truly God and truly Man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14-18; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6).
- Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:24-25).
- in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and personal, literal coming again the second time for His Church to be forever with the Lord (John 14:1-3; Mark 16; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
- in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:11-28; Romans 5:11, 10:9-10; I John 1).
- in water baptism by immersion as a means to make a public declaration of our faith and to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-39, 19:1-6).
- in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a real experience at or subsequent to salvation. The present, supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He indwells, comforts, leads, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service (Luke 24:45-49; John 7:37-39; Acts 1:4-8, 2:1-47, 8:14-17, 10:44-46, 19:1-6; Galatians 3:13-15; I Corinthians 12; Galatians 5; Mark 16:15-20 ).
- in the present day operation and demonstration of the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit as enumerated and revealed in the Holy Scriptures (I Corinthians 12; Galatians 5).
- in a life of separation from sin and the perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as expressing the true Christian faith (Ephesians 5:15-21; II Corinthians 6:13-15, 7:1; Titus 2:6-14).
- in the healing of the body by Divine power, or Divine healing, in all it’s varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church and to the present day. Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Healing and deliverance from sickness and disease is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers. It is also available for nonbelievers at the Lord’s discretion (Isaiah 53:4-5; Luke 4: 17-21; Matthew 4:24, 8:14-17; Mark 7:24-30; Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14-16).
- in the table of the Lord, commonly called the Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers (I Corinthians 11:23-32; Matthew 26:26-28).
- in the bodily (I Corinthians 15:42-44) resurrection of the dead, the believer to everlasting joy and eternal life (John 5:24, 3:16: I Thessalonians 4:14-17; Titus 2:11-14; I Corinthians 15:49-57) and the unbeliever to eternal conscious punishment ( II Thessalonians 1:7-10; Revelation 20:11-15).
- that there is one true universal Church, made up of genuine believers, but this one universal Church is also composed of many local Churches in various localities. These Churches are under the sovereign Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him, administering all its local affairs and ministry, as well as the propagation of the Gospel (Matthew 16:13-19, 18:15-20; 28:18-20; John 15; Acts 4:10-12; Ephesians 4:11-16,1:17-23; Colossians 1:17-19).
